Our August spotlight is Mary
Bennett. Mary has been married to her
husband, Jim for 40 years. She says the
key to a long marriage isn’t hard, but it takes work and apologizing. She also says, “We tell each other 'I love you',
all the time”. Mary had 5 children and Jim had 2 from
previous marriages and when they came together they had 3 girls and 4 boys. Mary is a dog lover and has had one around
most of her life. A German Shepard, a mutt,
a Rat Terrier, and a Chihuahua are some of the breeds she has had and loves
them all. Another one of her and her
husband’s loves, are John Wayne Movies. A sound Mary loves is the sound of a screen door opening and closing as that reminds her of home. Another interesting fact about Mary is that she drove a Semi-truck for 6 years. She usually drove during the day and Jim
drove nights. One of their dreams is to live
in a 5th wheel trailer and drive around to visiting their kids and
grand kids. Right now she has a
granddaughter on a mission in Brazil.
Thanks for sharing Mary!

Meg Swenson
Our July spotlight is Meg Swenson. She currently has 2 callings; serving as the
Single Adult (31 & older) Representative and as a Wolf Den Leader in the
Cub Scouts.
Meg loves the Hymns and the Scriptures. It is hard for her to pick a “favorite” as
they change constantly, but her favorites as of July, 1st 2018 are;
Hymn #103 Precious Savior, Dear Redeemer and Enos 1:2 “And I will tell you of
the wrestle which I had before God, before I received a remission of my sins.” She is most grateful for; the Restoration of
the Gospel, Family (those living on earth and beyond the veil), Friends, Good
Books, Good Music, Children, and Answered Prayers.
If Meg has 30 minutes of free time,
she would most likely be found calling a friend, reading a book, or writing. A couple books she would recommend are; The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by
Patricia Wrede and Hope Was Here by
Joan Bauer. The movie she can never
watch enough times is Amazing Grace. Her favorite smells are her mom’s kitchen, a
rose garden, the seaside/coastal air, and rain (especially in the woods).
A chore that she didn’t like doing
when she was growing up is vacuuming, but it has now become one of her
favorites because she started singing hymns while she was doing it. She always starts with one in particular and
she always thinks of it now as of her vacuuming song.
Some of her hobbies include;
writing, baking, cooking, serving, reading, hiking, crocheting, sewing, and
playing board games. We are so happy to
have Meg in our ward!
