Paulette Day

Paulette Day

Paulette is currently serving as the 1st Councilor in the Relief Society Presidency. She  works part time providing emergency supplies and food storage through Thrive Life and has worked as a business manager for MassMutual Seattle (life insurance) for 43 years and is still having fun!

She has 3 sons and 4 grandchildren (3 girls and 1 boy). Paulette has 2 dog bite marks on the back of her leg from when she got bit while riding her bike as a teenager but she still likes dogs anyways and now has 2 labs and 1 tabby cat. Paulette's favorite thing to do with her family is have the grandkids overnight and bake chocolate chip cookies from scratch with them. They always come over to celebrate her birthday. Her sons make homemade chicken fettuccine and her grandkids make the cake.

Paulette loves tulips, the smell of fresh baked cinnamon rolls,  gardening, hiking, outdoors, book club and CERT (Community Emergency Response Team). She hopes to one day add hearing and singing notes correctly to her talent list since she is tone deaf like her mother before her. She also likes the movie Pride & Prejudice and Hallmark movies. When she has 30 minutes of free time she will usually read and would highly recommend the books "Christmas Jars" by Jason Wright.

If she could be any fictional character she would choose Wonder Woman with her rope of Truth and would also like the magical power of instant travel; just think of a place and boom you're there.

Some of Paulettes fondest memories are from trips. She has been to Australia twice and plans to go for a 3rd time in December to visit her pen pal of 50 years. Also ever other year she goes on a trip with 5 close friends from her home town. They go somewhere different each year so their fun group of 60 somethings can act like giggly teenagers without embarrassing their families.  A perfect day for Paulette would be going to the temple with a friend, then lunch, then having the rest of the day to ponder, read or garden without time commitments.

Angela Bigler

Angela Bigler

Angela is a CTR 7 teacher and is currently working as an Insurance Servicing Representative. She has 2 scars on her upper right thigh from 2nd grade when she spilled hot chili on her lap and it burned through her pants. Ouch!!

She met her husband, Austin, in the Silver Lake single adult ward soon after he returned from his mission. He proposed on their 6 month anniversary by tying a ring to her cat's collar. They were married last year the day after Thanksgiving. Together they have 3 cats: Scooby, Jazzy, and Dixie. They are also expecting their first child this October and just found out they're having a boy!

Angela enjoys talking, playing games or going out on fun adventures with friends and family. She also likes playing video games, paint by numbers, cross-stitching and reading. She recently discovered that she has some serious skills in the kitchen and is excited to develop this new found talent.

If she won a million dollars her and Austin would go on a trip to visit Ireland, Scotland, Greece and maybe Italy. She doesn't really like to pick favorites of anything since there are to many good choices but she is always up for watching the Goonies. It's "an oldie but a goodie". A perfect day for Angela would be  taking the day off from work and just relaxing. Then getting a pedicure and going out somewhere fun.

Stacy Buchanan

Stacy Buchanan

Stacy is the 1st councilor in the Primary presidency and a stay at home mom. Her theme song is "Just Keep Swimming" from finding Nemo.

She met her husband Ben at BYU-Idaho but ended up moving to Phoenix to attend DeVry University. Ben chose to transferred to ASU so he could stay close to her. She decided that was a winning move and before long they were married. Together they have 4 little girls: Lucie (7), Alice (5), Noelle (2) and Zoe (newborn). They also have a 10 year old black labrador retriever named Jack.

Stacy can't get enough of the outdoors. She loves wild flowers,  rock climbing, repelling and any physical activity really. She also enjoys sewing, reading, trying new recipes, "pretending to be crafty" and can never watch The Mask of Zorro enough times. However her favorite thing of all is spending time with her girls. They love to spend family time outside exploring new places, building things with wood, playing sports, reading aloud or playing board games.

If Stacy won a million dollars she would buy a big house with a huge sunny backyard to have parties and garden. She'd also hire a personal chef so she could spend more time with her kids. A perfect day for Stacy would be going on a hike followed by raspberry/strawberry picking then making a pie to eat at a picnic dinner by a lake with swimming.

Jill Hudson

Jill Hudson

Jill is the 1st councilor in the Young Women's Presidency. She met her husband Jerry at church when she moved to the area during high school.  Together they have 5 children (2 boys and 3 girls) and a dog named Lucky. Their favorite thing to do as a family is play all kinds of games.

Jill's favorite food is king crab. She also like peonies, roses and lilacs, the smell of new babies and she can't watch Pride and Prejudice enough times. She enjoys shopping at farmers markets with friends (the flowers and fresh produce are fantastic), reading, sewing, gardening and baking. She hopes to one day add playing the piano and guitar to her talent list.

If Jill could have any form of help for a year she would choose a maid...definitely. If she won a million dollars she would buy a new house and go on a great vacation (Mexico has been her favorite so far). Her super power of choice would be the ability to make the sun shine every day and have light rain at night so she wouldn't have to water her plants. A perfect day for Jill would be a bright sunny day with her family.

Wendy Bell

Wendy Bell

Wendy is currently a Visiting Teaching Supervisor. She worked for many years as a front-office secretary at a dentist office but is now retired.

She met her husband Randy at a Single Adult conference when she was a 28 year old single mother of 4. Randy was sure he wanted to marry her right away but Wendy took a little longer to decide. After several months he told her to "just pray about it" As she knelt to pray she immediately received an answer so strong and clear she was stunned. They were sealed 2 months later in the Seattle Temple and were happily married for about 23 years when he died of cancer. Wendy says to know that her family is sealed in the temple has been a comfort and blessing in the time since he has been gone. Later that year she served a 2 year Family History mission in Salt Lake City and loved it!

Wendy loves desert (as long as it's chocolate) and yellow roses. She also loves to read and would highly recommend Unbroken by Laura Hildenbrand. Sense and Sensibility can never be watched enough times in her opinion. Her favorite scene is at the end of the move when Elinor Dashwood gets some "unexpected news".

Wendy enjoys indexing, playing the piano, and handwork like crocheting, knitting or hardanger embroidery.  She would love to add oil painting to her talent list one day and is interested in painting portraits. A perfect day for Wendy would be waking up early, being productive and then spending time with her children.

Ginny Schilaty

Ginny Schilaty

Ginny is the Relief Society President. She was an Elementary School principal for 22 years and loved it! But now she is very happy to be retired.

Ginny's theme song is Zippity-Do-Dah! She loves Roses, pies, the smell of the ocean, detective shows (especially N.C.I.S.) and can't watch National Treasure enough times. She enjoys playing the guitar and banjo and loves kayaking with friends in the Sound and lakes but does NOT like cleaning the bathroom. She would hire a maid if given the option. When she has 30 minutes of free time she will most likely do Family History research. If Ginny won a million dollars she would create college and mission funds for all of her grandchildren and organize an amazing trip for her entire family.

Ginny met her husband Buzz while attending Western Washington University. They dated for several years and then one afternoon Buzz decided it was time to get married. He took Ginny to the top jewelry store in downtown Everett and they selected matching wedding rings. The wedding took place the following Saturday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Everett. When it's time, it's time!

Ginny and Buzz have 4 awesome children, 7 grandchildren and a 15 year old orange cat named Simon. With the exception of their son Ben (who is attending school in Arizona),  all of their children live close by and come over for family dinner every Sunday night. A perfect day for Ginny would be Sunshine and family.

Amy Oppie

Amy Oppie

Amy is the 2nd Councilor in the Primary Presidency.  She recently decided to stay home with her 2 little boys after 8 years of  working as a research scientist/chemist.

She likes dancing, sports, baking, can never watch Sense and Sensibility enough times and doesn’t think there is anything that smells as good as a new baby!  When she has 30 minutes of free time she will usually catch up on sleep (thanks to her 8 month old). When she’s goes out to eat she likes Thai food and Red Robin where she has eaten for her birthday every year since she was 16!

Amy met her husband Nathan in the Lynwood stake singles ward. He proposed by playing (after learning how to play) her favorite song ‘more than words’ on the guitar and gave her his great grandmothers wedding ring.  Together they have 2 boys Memphis (city in Tennessee) who is 2 ½ and Nash (city in Texas) who is 8 months old. They also have a little Chihuahua named peanut.  Their favorite thing to do as a family is go to the beach any time of year! If they won a million dollars they would go on a big ol’ vacation after Nathan finishes school!
