Sami Plessman
Sami is serving as the Gospel Essentials teacher in our ward along with her husband. She is also a certified speech pathologist but is currently spending her time preparing to be a first-time mama!
She met her husband Colt when he moved into her apartment complex and they were in the same ward for the summer. She spent all summer trying to figure out how to get him to kiss her/muster up the courage to kiss him first. 18 months later he proposed up the Provo canyon. They went for a walk along the river. When they came around a bend, all of a sudden there were red roses everywhere! Sami followed the trail of roses and petals to a big white box. When she opened it, red and white balloons flew out and got stuck in the trees. When she turned around, Colt got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. Then they wrote wishes for their marriage on two of the balloons and sent them up into the sky (His sisters helped him think of the idea). They are now expecting their first child, a son, on January 18th!!
Sami loves tulips and eating at café Rio. She also enjoys running, playing sports (especially soccer and basketball), singing, playing the guitar, and drawing When Sami has 30 minutes of free time she wishes she could say she spends it doing something cool or productive, but realistically, she would probably just get on Facebook.
She is a big movie/tv watcher. The movie 27 dresses can seriously not be watched enough times. She went through a phase where she watched it almost every day even if it was just in the background. Her guilty pleasure tv shows are My Big Redneck Vacation and the Bachelor/Bachelorette no matter how much it makes her cringe. She also likes to read and would highly recommend reading "The Book Thief" and Harry Potter which she has re-read many times because it reminds her of her childhood. Of all the fictional characters she would choose to be Anne of Green Gables because she has always wanted red hair.
Sami's favorite hymn is "Savior, Redeemer of My Soul". She is also inspired by the scripture John 14:27 which says "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
