Catherine (Allen) Rogers
Catherine is serving in our ward as the Relief Society Chorister. It was scary at first because she had never lead music, but she was excited for an opportunity to push herself outside of her comfort zone. She feels she still has room for improvement but is enjoying the time she spends preparing and standing in from of the sisters each Sunday to lead.
Professionally, she is currently working full time as an internal accountant for an electronics business in Lynnwood. However at the end of the year she is hoping to transition to her true passion of helping others as a life coach, motivational speaker, and author.
Some of her favorite things to do with her family would be date nights with her husband at Olive Garden (she loves the seafood fettuccine) or eating at an Asian buffet as a family. She also loves heart-to-heart talks with her teenage children cuddling her younger children or snuggling up to a movie with her husband.
Catherine enjoys Ballroom and swing dancing, ice or roller skating, exercising, hiking, camping, and having friends over for dinner or games, She is always striving to improve herself and read uplifting material. She would highly recommend a book called #Love - A New Generation of Hope which she co-authored under the pen name 'Catherine M. White'
Catherine draws inspiration from the hymns and loves "Because I Have Been Given Much" because no matter her circumstance, the Lord has always provided for her with everything she needed and in turn she loves to share what she has been given to help others in need. Another one close to her heart is "We Thank Thee, Oh God , For a Prophet" because there was a time in her life that she was feeling great despair. She remembers singing this hymn in sacrament meeting at that time. When they got to verse two "When dark clouds of trouble hang o'er us, and threaten our peace to destroy, there is hope smiling brightly before us, and we know that deliv'rance is night" She broke into tears, feeling the weight of her burdens but knowing there was hope ahead.
Catherine is greatful for her knowledge of the gospel, her four children and for the trust the Lord places in her to guide them through their earthly life.
