Vickie Perry

Vickie Perry

Vickie has been serving as our Relief Society president since September. Professionally she worked in the office at Mervyn's Department store but decided to be a stay at home mom instead when her oldest child was about 4.

She met her husband Bret at a YSA activity while she was attending Edmonds Community College. They both liked the dances and Vickie would ask him to take her all the time. She thought they were just friends so she'd dance with anyone who asked. Bret got jealous after a while and delivered a "break up" letter to her while she was at work. Vickie wasn't sure what to do so she talked to her mom who suggested she invite him over for dinner which she did.  Bret proposed 3 months later by taking her to Picnic Point Beach and having dinner from McDonald's. He had preordered Happy Meals and Vickie's had a special prize ring. And then as they say, "the rest is history."

They now have 4 children: Tylor 25, Kendra 23, Jacob 19 and Nicole 14.  They also have 2 Scottish fold cats and 1 boarder collie mix dog. Some of their favorite things to do as a family are playing games, watching movies or tv, camping or going on vacation. Last year she and her husband took their first trip alone together without the kids. They chose to go to San Francisco to celebrate Bret's birthday and had a blast.

Vickie likes volleyball, singing, reading mystery books, exercising, roses, enchiladas and the smell of honeysuckles. She doesn't really enjoy eating out and hates doing chores especially cleaning the bathroom. If she won a million dollars she would remodel her home and pay for her children's college education.

Her favorite hymn is "Come thou Fount of Every Blessing". She is also inspired by the scripture 1 Nephi 3:7 ".....I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded , for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them"

She is most grateful for the gospel and her family especially her eternal companion Bret. A perfect day for Vickie would be spending time with her family no matter what they choose to do as long as they do it together.

Amy Galicia

Amy Galicia

Amy is currently serving in the senior nursery with her husband and they just love all the kids. In the past she has worked as a photographer taking school pictures, cleaned apartments, a greeter at Wal-Mart while she was pregnant, and worked at 2 different call centers (no fun). Now she is an excellent full time mommy to her kiddos.

She met her husband Israel at a BYU-Idaho Latin dance. He came up to her after the dance and invited her to another dance the next day. She, of course went and they've been together ever since. Now they have 4 children: Daniella 6, Rome 4, Ivan 2 and Deanna is 15 months. They would also like to get 2 ferrets someday just because they are so cool, a bit stinky but still so fun.

Some of their favorite things to do as a family are board games, Wii games, chill and watch movies, make baked goodies, and going to the park or walking around the mall (the kids think it's so cool and gets them out of the house). Their favorite vacation so far has been their family trip to Great Wolf Lodge.

Some of Amy's favorite things are the smell of the cinnamon pinecones at Christmas time, eating at P.F. Changs, and watching The Goldbergs, King of Queens or the movie Tommy Boy. She also enjoys playing the guitar, singing and taking/editing photos in Photoshop. When Amy has 30 minutes of free time (ha like that happens with 4 kids!) she will most likely freak out about something she thinks she forgot to do then end up watching daytime TV like Judge Mathis (he's so funny)

If she won a million dollars, Amy would pay off student loans!!! Then help out her extended family and buy a house so her immediate family so they could finally get those 2 ferrets plus all the other pets they want now that they don't have to pay pet fees at a rental house.

Amy's favorite hymn is I Need Thee Every Hour. It always reminds her that she really does need the Lord. Life gets busy and stressful and she knows she could not manage to do all that she does in one day with out the lords help.

Becky Kristiansen

Becky Kristiansen

Becky is currently serving in our ward as the Primary secretary and she loves it! She has a long history of primary callings starting from age 11 when she was asked to teach nursery. Then at age 15 she was called as the primary chorister. She has absolutely loved all of her primary callings.

Becky is married and has 7 children and 27 grandchildren! She is also a co-mother-in-law with 2 women in our ward since 2 of her children married members the Everett 2nd ward. With the exception of 1, all of her children are scattered across the country so she doesn't get to see them very often. But every 2 years her and her husband host "cousin camp". They send schedules to the grandkids with a few fun things and some very boring things like "Grandpa Lecture". Then when it's time for the "lecture" they surprise them and go out to breakfast and bowling in their pajamas instead. The whole event is "such outrageous 24/7 fun!"

When her 5th daughter graduated from high school she wasn't interested in college.  Becky had only attended one semester of college at the time so she suggested they take a few classes together. It went well and the next semester they both signed up for a full course load.  The whole time Becky was in college she was well aware that she was the oldest person in every single class but she had a mantra; "How old will you be in 5 years if you don't complete college" It was the same age either way so she kept going.  Then sure enough 5 years later she graduated with her daughter and they were able to walk together. Now  Becky works at Eisenhower Middle School as a Special Education teacher.

Becky enjoys watching "Dives, Diners and Drive-Ins" and "Shark Tank". She also likes reading and thinking about the next day at school. Her favorite hymn is "I Believe in Christ" sung in full voice and would like it sung at her funeral without slowing down the tempo! To Becky, the most important things in her life are the gospel, her husband and her family.

Kristen Reber

Kristen Reber

Kristen is currently serving in our ward as the Young Women's 2nd Councilor.  Professionally she is a freelance editor and writer, but she is taking a break from that for now to be a mommy. Kristen grew up in Coer d' Alene Idaho and served a mission in the Philippines!

She met her husband James at church and he proposed to her at the Y trailhead which is the same place he asked her to be his girlfriend. Together they have a newborn baby girl and would one day like a cat. They like going out to see new places and things in the area and would like to travel the world when they have more money, but mostly they enjoy just being together.

Kristen's theme song is "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts. She loves tulips of any color, the smell of roses, potatoes for dinner, and eating at the Cheesecake Factory. Her guilty pleasure TV show is "Say Yes to the Dress" and she's not a big movie watcher but did like "The Avengers". Mostly she loves to read and would highly recommend the book "The Mayor of Casterbridge" by Thomas Hardy. She says not only is it a page-turner, but it has so much interesting commentary on what it means to be a person of "character".

When Kristen has some free time she enjoys playing the harp and piano, cross-stitching, swimming, writing when she has a flash of inspiration and of course reading. She hopes to one day add home decorating to her talent list.

If she won a million dollars she would buy a nice harp, a house, a trip to Europe or at least London and hire someone to do pretty things with her hair and do the dishes. If Kristen could be any super hero she would choose Harry Potter and also wishes she could fly; it just seems fun.

A perfect day for Kristen would be swimming followed by reading and dinner at a nice restaurant (probably the Cheesecake Factory) with the people she loves.

Krista Seaton

Krista Seaton

Krista recently celebrated her 3 year baptism anniversary. She has a beautiful conversion story so be sure to ask her about it. She is brand new to our ward so she hasn't received a calling yet. In her previous ward she was a family history consultant and loved it! She is currently working at The Children's Place in the Northgate Mall while she attends Capella University part time working towards a Bachelors degree in Business.

She and her husband Derek are newly weds! They originally met online and later had their first official date at the Portland Temple. The date went perfectly and she felt strongly that Derek was the one. Soon after that he proposed over the phone and it was so sweet he totally won her over. They were married May 10th, just under 3 months after they met. Together they own 2 kitties; Boots, a tabby Maine Coon they feel is the sweetest cat in the world and Spooky a black American shorthair that likes to get up in your face and lick your nose.

Krista enjoys arts and crafts like drawing, sewing, crocheting, knitting, painting, clay-working, latch-hook rug making and origami. Actually finishing projects is not her strong suit, but she enjoys working on them just the same. Her favorite movies are anything made by Studio Ghibli especially if it was made my Miyazaki. She also likes the t.v. shows Vampire Diaries, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and My Little Pony.  Krista's favorite foods are her baked version of her moms chimichanga recipe and the Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse in Woodinville.

Her favorite vacation was last October when she drove down to General Conference with some friends. That was her first Utah experience and she thought it was amazing. Her favorite part was the drive back because they stopped at as many temples as they could which was beyond awesome.

Krista's favorite way to celebrate her birthday is spending the day with her dad barbequing and doing other fun things. Sometimes she makes it a 3 day affair spending each day with a different person she loves. A perfect day for Krista would be attending the temple with her husband and reminiscing about their wedding day.

Paulette Day

Paulette Day

Paulette is currently serving as the 1st Councilor in the Relief Society Presidency. She  works part time providing emergency supplies and food storage through Thrive Life and has worked as a business manager for MassMutual Seattle (life insurance) for 43 years and is still having fun!

She has 3 sons and 4 grandchildren (3 girls and 1 boy). Paulette has 2 dog bite marks on the back of her leg from when she got bit while riding her bike as a teenager but she still likes dogs anyways and now has 2 labs and 1 tabby cat. Paulette's favorite thing to do with her family is have the grandkids overnight and bake chocolate chip cookies from scratch with them. They always come over to celebrate her birthday. Her sons make homemade chicken fettuccine and her grandkids make the cake.

Paulette loves tulips, the smell of fresh baked cinnamon rolls,  gardening, hiking, outdoors, book club and CERT (Community Emergency Response Team). She hopes to one day add hearing and singing notes correctly to her talent list since she is tone deaf like her mother before her. She also likes the movie Pride & Prejudice and Hallmark movies. When she has 30 minutes of free time she will usually read and would highly recommend the books "Christmas Jars" by Jason Wright.

If she could be any fictional character she would choose Wonder Woman with her rope of Truth and would also like the magical power of instant travel; just think of a place and boom you're there.

Some of Paulettes fondest memories are from trips. She has been to Australia twice and plans to go for a 3rd time in December to visit her pen pal of 50 years. Also ever other year she goes on a trip with 5 close friends from her home town. They go somewhere different each year so their fun group of 60 somethings can act like giggly teenagers without embarrassing their families.  A perfect day for Paulette would be going to the temple with a friend, then lunch, then having the rest of the day to ponder, read or garden without time commitments.

Angela Bigler

Angela Bigler

Angela is a CTR 7 teacher and is currently working as an Insurance Servicing Representative. She has 2 scars on her upper right thigh from 2nd grade when she spilled hot chili on her lap and it burned through her pants. Ouch!!

She met her husband, Austin, in the Silver Lake single adult ward soon after he returned from his mission. He proposed on their 6 month anniversary by tying a ring to her cat's collar. They were married last year the day after Thanksgiving. Together they have 3 cats: Scooby, Jazzy, and Dixie. They are also expecting their first child this October and just found out they're having a boy!

Angela enjoys talking, playing games or going out on fun adventures with friends and family. She also likes playing video games, paint by numbers, cross-stitching and reading. She recently discovered that she has some serious skills in the kitchen and is excited to develop this new found talent.

If she won a million dollars her and Austin would go on a trip to visit Ireland, Scotland, Greece and maybe Italy. She doesn't really like to pick favorites of anything since there are to many good choices but she is always up for watching the Goonies. It's "an oldie but a goodie". A perfect day for Angela would be  taking the day off from work and just relaxing. Then getting a pedicure and going out somewhere fun.

Stacy Buchanan

Stacy Buchanan

Stacy is the 1st councilor in the Primary presidency and a stay at home mom. Her theme song is "Just Keep Swimming" from finding Nemo.

She met her husband Ben at BYU-Idaho but ended up moving to Phoenix to attend DeVry University. Ben chose to transferred to ASU so he could stay close to her. She decided that was a winning move and before long they were married. Together they have 4 little girls: Lucie (7), Alice (5), Noelle (2) and Zoe (newborn). They also have a 10 year old black labrador retriever named Jack.

Stacy can't get enough of the outdoors. She loves wild flowers,  rock climbing, repelling and any physical activity really. She also enjoys sewing, reading, trying new recipes, "pretending to be crafty" and can never watch The Mask of Zorro enough times. However her favorite thing of all is spending time with her girls. They love to spend family time outside exploring new places, building things with wood, playing sports, reading aloud or playing board games.

If Stacy won a million dollars she would buy a big house with a huge sunny backyard to have parties and garden. She'd also hire a personal chef so she could spend more time with her kids. A perfect day for Stacy would be going on a hike followed by raspberry/strawberry picking then making a pie to eat at a picnic dinner by a lake with swimming.

Jill Hudson

Jill Hudson

Jill is the 1st councilor in the Young Women's Presidency. She met her husband Jerry at church when she moved to the area during high school.  Together they have 5 children (2 boys and 3 girls) and a dog named Lucky. Their favorite thing to do as a family is play all kinds of games.

Jill's favorite food is king crab. She also like peonies, roses and lilacs, the smell of new babies and she can't watch Pride and Prejudice enough times. She enjoys shopping at farmers markets with friends (the flowers and fresh produce are fantastic), reading, sewing, gardening and baking. She hopes to one day add playing the piano and guitar to her talent list.

If Jill could have any form of help for a year she would choose a maid...definitely. If she won a million dollars she would buy a new house and go on a great vacation (Mexico has been her favorite so far). Her super power of choice would be the ability to make the sun shine every day and have light rain at night so she wouldn't have to water her plants. A perfect day for Jill would be a bright sunny day with her family.

Wendy Bell

Wendy Bell

Wendy is currently a Visiting Teaching Supervisor. She worked for many years as a front-office secretary at a dentist office but is now retired.

She met her husband Randy at a Single Adult conference when she was a 28 year old single mother of 4. Randy was sure he wanted to marry her right away but Wendy took a little longer to decide. After several months he told her to "just pray about it" As she knelt to pray she immediately received an answer so strong and clear she was stunned. They were sealed 2 months later in the Seattle Temple and were happily married for about 23 years when he died of cancer. Wendy says to know that her family is sealed in the temple has been a comfort and blessing in the time since he has been gone. Later that year she served a 2 year Family History mission in Salt Lake City and loved it!

Wendy loves desert (as long as it's chocolate) and yellow roses. She also loves to read and would highly recommend Unbroken by Laura Hildenbrand. Sense and Sensibility can never be watched enough times in her opinion. Her favorite scene is at the end of the move when Elinor Dashwood gets some "unexpected news".

Wendy enjoys indexing, playing the piano, and handwork like crocheting, knitting or hardanger embroidery.  She would love to add oil painting to her talent list one day and is interested in painting portraits. A perfect day for Wendy would be waking up early, being productive and then spending time with her children.

Ginny Schilaty

Ginny Schilaty

Ginny is the Relief Society President. She was an Elementary School principal for 22 years and loved it! But now she is very happy to be retired.

Ginny's theme song is Zippity-Do-Dah! She loves Roses, pies, the smell of the ocean, detective shows (especially N.C.I.S.) and can't watch National Treasure enough times. She enjoys playing the guitar and banjo and loves kayaking with friends in the Sound and lakes but does NOT like cleaning the bathroom. She would hire a maid if given the option. When she has 30 minutes of free time she will most likely do Family History research. If Ginny won a million dollars she would create college and mission funds for all of her grandchildren and organize an amazing trip for her entire family.

Ginny met her husband Buzz while attending Western Washington University. They dated for several years and then one afternoon Buzz decided it was time to get married. He took Ginny to the top jewelry store in downtown Everett and they selected matching wedding rings. The wedding took place the following Saturday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Everett. When it's time, it's time!

Ginny and Buzz have 4 awesome children, 7 grandchildren and a 15 year old orange cat named Simon. With the exception of their son Ben (who is attending school in Arizona),  all of their children live close by and come over for family dinner every Sunday night. A perfect day for Ginny would be Sunshine and family.

Amy Oppie

Amy Oppie

Amy is the 2nd Councilor in the Primary Presidency.  She recently decided to stay home with her 2 little boys after 8 years of  working as a research scientist/chemist.

She likes dancing, sports, baking, can never watch Sense and Sensibility enough times and doesn’t think there is anything that smells as good as a new baby!  When she has 30 minutes of free time she will usually catch up on sleep (thanks to her 8 month old). When she’s goes out to eat she likes Thai food and Red Robin where she has eaten for her birthday every year since she was 16!

Amy met her husband Nathan in the Lynwood stake singles ward. He proposed by playing (after learning how to play) her favorite song ‘more than words’ on the guitar and gave her his great grandmothers wedding ring.  Together they have 2 boys Memphis (city in Tennessee) who is 2 ½ and Nash (city in Texas) who is 8 months old. They also have a little Chihuahua named peanut.  Their favorite thing to do as a family is go to the beach any time of year! If they won a million dollars they would go on a big ol’ vacation after Nathan finishes school!
